Scoville Units!

I'm up early this morning debating whether or not to go back to bed. My throat is raw for the second day in a row and I'm wondering what to do...go back to bed or get on the "hampster wheel" and run it out of me with a good sweat.
I opt for action and get on and start running. 3 miles in and I'm pouring sweat like a prize fighter and feeling like I made the right call not going back to bed. After running as you know I touched base with you, confessed my physical weakness to you and you are there for me again! I don't know what fortunate star I fall under but I know the Gods must love me because they send me all the right people at the right time in my life. He sent me You!
I went to the only store in town that has anything organic (except as it turns out....KALE) and find a red bell pepper and something called "Ghost Chile" which as it turns out is allegedly one of the hottest peppers on the earth. Yes, I'm about to get medieval on this junk that's making me feel less than 100%, going completely on the offensive. When your back is to the wall, you either get crushed or attack, attack attack!
I was also able to find the last bottle of organic coconut oil which smells amazing by the way! I paid and left for home ligher by about 30 bucks but it's only money and my health has no pricetag.
I chopped up the entire bell pepper and 2 of the ghost peppers dumped about 2 tbs of cayanne pepper and another dash of sea salt in the Jalepeno Bisque and let it all steam together for about 15 minutes and then sat down to eat.
I am now sweating like a guilty Catholic at confession but starting to feel a lot better. The earlier scrubdown in the shower was great and the hot/cold water wrinse was a little bit breath taking and it took some practice to get the cold cycle from feeling like a plunge thru the ice during the "Polar Bear Plunge (with a Minnesota accent) dontcha know! The hot water sipping feels good on my throat too and I've got some oranges and cloves to round out my Rx!
I just wanted to tell you thank you again for saving my life and prolonging my journey through it Coach. I love you just doesn't seem sufficient, but I do.

  1. Way more fun to approach life like this isn't it? Who would want to take a pill and wait 9 days for the illness to work it's way out? This is great stuff! You are on top of things here and I certainly hope you starting to feel the difference. And, btw I'm very proud of you cutting back on the coffee as well as eliminating the fattening beverage out of your diet! You've done it all so quickly, I'm in awe and very impressed.

    1. Thank you! Although it's been over a week since I've taken a bottle opener to a dark brown bottle, I can't promise that I won't ever have one. It just might take a lot longer to empty my "adult beverage" fridge than it used to. I can feel the difference not partaking of liquid barley and hops makes and though I'm probably not too noticably thinner, I don't feel swollen or bloated.
Thank you for always encouraging being positive. You have on idea how much of a difference that makes...well you probably do. :)
      Thanks again Coach!
