Today started out great! got up early and had whole rolled oats with flax seed and dried cranberries and slivers of almonds. I let that settle for a few and then put on the trainers and went for a run. 3 miles later my legs said time for intervals for the remaining 2.5. so much for feeling like I had the juice to make it 5 :) No worries, I know I'll get there. If experience has taught me anything, it's that building up the endurance muscle takes time and perseverance. Plenty of road for me out there. And I got nothing but time and a great coach who is inspires me and gives me a lot of things to work on and ideas to fuel my body to keep me going! Thanks Coach! You're my example of courage and perseverance!
The remainder of the day I ate okay, not great. I mean the food was delicious and I tried to make good choices this time eating out. I had a veggie pizza - 14 incher thin crust with fetta, black olives, artichoke hearts, spinach and jalepenos. It was very tasty! I added crushed red pepper and black pepper after it was served...oh my goodness!
I'm still "dry." The Beastie Boys had a song called "No Sleep til Brooklyn." Mine has been "No Beer since Utah!" It's been a challenge but I'm happy and hoping my midsection will start to show some appreciation. Tomorrow I'm going to shoot for Salmon filets and yams, and try and make a Kale Salad! Peace-out. dang, another plane to leave behind and no parachute...a high wire and no net! Ain't it cool?!
I'll tell you what is cool. This blog! Yes I remember that song from the Beastie Boys. No beer since Utah fits perfectly and I can see you are up for the challenge!
ReplyDeleteYour body is loving you for the changes you are making. Good work! Jumping out of planes with no parachute teaches you that you were divinely wired to fly.
